Baldwin City USD 348, is seeking a new Team Member to fill a full time position within our Maintenance and Grounds Team.
Working hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. During Snow and Ice events or a building emergency, Team Members might be called in after hours.

Compensation: $14.72 per hour
The role you’ll contribute:
Perform a variety of maintenance and landscaping duties to ensure USD 348 facilities are safe, secure, and operate in an efficient manner.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Perform various Maintenance tasks. This includes, but is not limited to, minor plumbing, furniture setup andrepair, stage setup and tear down, floor repair, and other general repairs that will be presented.
- Maintain the landscaping around the USD 348 facilities
- Maintain District equipment, i.e., lawn mowers, trimmers, hand tools, plows, spreaders, skid loader, and gator
- Demonstrates a complete knowledge of proper operation procedures of landscaping equipment
- Prepare the District’s parking lots and sidewalks for school during snow and ice events using trucks with plows attached, bobcat skid loader, and spreaders.

- Adjusts to staff shortages by covering other assigned areas
- Sets up and takes down for special events
- Assist District staff and the community with moving of furniture and other items.
- Ensures class rooms are prepared by adding or removing furniture as requested
- Uses various power and hand tools to complete tasks.
- Follows policies and procedures in accordance with facility standards
- Duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor and the Facilities Director
Items we need from you:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Communication and organizational skills
- Computer experience, PC and Macintosh
- Health and Tuberculosis Certificate on file at the District Office (once employment is accepted)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors during inclement weather
- Ability to work in noisy, crowded, and stressful environments
- Ability to work safely while on ladders
- Ability to multitask and the ability to learn new trades
- Experience with snow and ice removal using plows and spreaders a plus
- Must be able to communicate and work with District Staff and Community Members
